The National Father & Son Team Classic Enters Its 13th Year.
Each summer, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina hosts the largest father and son golf competition in the world. Last year's 54-hole competition drew over 1400 players from 44 states and 8 foreign countries - 36 flights in all. Past "Fathers of the Year" include such names as Lou Holtz, ESPN Analyst and former head football coach of The University of South Carolina; Jim Hodges, the South Carolina Governor; Happ Lathrop, the Executive Director of the South Carolina Golf Association, Dal Shealy, the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Bobby Richardson, 1960 World Series Most Valuable Player and Joe Louis Barrow, CEO - The First Tee Foundation.
Played on the Grand Strand's most requested golf courses, the championship is a 54-hole event offering a different format each day. The tournament is open to any father/son type relationship, including fathers and sons; grandfathers and grandsons; stepfathers and stepsons; fathers and sons in law; and uncles and nephews.
