Lakelands Region The Lakelands area has been known throughout Greenwood and its' seven surrounding counties for their close proximity to numerous abundant lakes for several years. The "Lakelands" terminology has become so popular that upon arriving in Greenwood, businesses garnering the Lakelands name can be seen throughout the community.

Just as there are abundant lakes, there are also abundant golf courses. Over 15 courses are within a 45 minute drive from Greenwood with some outstanding scenery to add to the golfing experience. The region is also known for its championship golf courses, including a Davis Love design course set alongside Lake Greenwood in the Grand Harbor subdivision. For the beginner golfer, the Lakelands area also features various Par 3 courses as well as some more intermediate courses for the frequent golfer.
